Jiffy Cat photography is the work of Edward Doucette. In 2006 Edward began to post his work on Flickr. Edward’s hobby quickly turned into a major creative outlet. This past year Edward received three major commissions. His artwork was used in the design of Capcom’s Inazawa robot arcade in Japan. Most recently, Edward commissioned his work with The Art Group for use in the making of greeting cards.
Edward’s favorite techniques for photography are eclectic. For his toy and robot work, Edward usually shoots his subjects in front of a photo backdrop diorama style. With his pinhole camera, Edward likes to create atmospheric scenes which often involve double exposing the film. He find sources of inspiration in his love of travel, old New England cemeteries, films, the arts, ghost stories, family and especially tin toy robots, of which he possesses a vast collection.
Edward was born and raised in Massachusetts, where he currently resides with his wife and young son.
